SOPHIA WALLACE
CLITERACY | NYC
We've long had a massive girl crush on the amazing conceptual artist, Sophia Wallace. We first came across her four years ago when she launched her wildly popular project Cliteracy: 100 Natural Laws. Wallace has dedicated the past four years to researching and raising awareness about the clitoris in her work that aims to dismantle taboos around female and feminized genitalia in the heteropatriarchy.
Sophia's latest exhibit at the Catinca Tabacaru Gallery in New York’s Lower East Side is called OVER AND OVER AND OVER. The exhibit features small neon text sculptures which shed light on the taboo, censorship, and shame that continue to afflict female sexuality.
