My Rabbit Vibrator
My Rabbit Vibrator
This reveal is for the rabbit vibrator. If you were ever a fan of the original Sex and the City, you were likely introduced to the rabbit way back then. I did a SATC tour back in the mid-2000s and one of the stops on the tour through Manhattan was the Pleasure Chest where Carrie and her friends bought the iconic Rabbit vibrator. Back then the rabbit designs were less refined than what is available now, and functionality has certainly improved as tech has made its advances, but at its core, the Rabbit remains true: a dual stimulation vibrator with an internal and external arm.
Rabbit Design
The rabbit design appeals to so many because of its two-arm design, and one reason people like the rabbit shape over a traditional dildo shape that mimics the penis is that many of us with clitorises, need them stimulated in order to orgasm. The rabbit certainly achieves this.
I enjoy the rabbit vibrators. I’ve tried a few over the years and they work for me. When people ask me for advice about toys, I’m honest about my favourites but I also need to point out that every body is different and needs their unique pressure, speed, vibration and pulsation. The rabbits have multiple speeds, and variations in rhythm and intensity so you can find a setting that suits you.
Safety first
There are many, many, many sex toys on the market, and this means that you have your safe and well-designed toys and you have some companies making toys cheaply that are not made with body-safe materials. I’m a person that stalks supermarket aisles looking for foods with minimal and natural ingredients and I have the same attitude when it comes to toys or anything else I’m putting in my body. What you’re looking for is non-toxic and non-porous materials. What you need to stay away from are toys that contain phthalates, which are toxic compounds often found in PVC. Products should have a PVC-free label. Silicone trumps because it’s hypoallergenic and super easy to clean.
The Soraya
I have been using The Soraya by Lelo for 10+ years. There are bucketloads of toy companies existing today but Lelo was one of the first companies to make sex toys that weren’t tacky. Since Lelo began there have been many more companies that are creating some beautiful and really well-designed toys but I thought I would start my toy reveal with one of the original toys that I purchased. I will introduce you to a slew of others in due course.
I promised to be honest in all my content in BAD* Sex so I will say that the Soraya isn’t the most amazing toy on the market by any means and I certainly haven’t tried them all. There are two reasons this vibe might not work for you–it’s expensive and the gold trim around the silicone can be harder to clean but I like it because it’s sleek and it’s reliable both in the consistent quality of the vibe and in its ability to get me off.
The Soraya also works with my body shape, and sometimes with certain vibrators, they don’t hit the right spot because they are too rigid, not long enough, or the pulsations and vibrations aren’t right for you. As I mentioned before, choosing a sex toy that works for you can be a bit of a trial and error. I’ve bought toys that were used once and never again because they just didn’t do it for me.
But here are some of the features of the Soraya:
It's made from body-safe silicone. Yes!
It has 12 different modes. As I’ve mentioned, with this many options, you are bound to find something that you enjoy.
external arm is flexible so you can manoeuvre it to get it into the perfect position. You can literally bend it and work it into the right spot.
Waterproof. This is a common feature nowadays but not only toys are waterproof so if vibing in the shower or the bath is something you like then you want a waterproof vibe.
It charges quickly and has staying power (4 hours of it to be exact). You want something that's going to go the distance.
3 great colours: deep rose (which I have), black and blue. See them on Lelo’s website.
As always, I don’t have any affiliations with Lelo. These reveals are products I own, use and love.
